Parivaar – My people!

I tried a lot but I couldn’t comprehend a definition of a “family”. Yes, search engines will give us a definition which will bring social/biological structure to it. But in my opinion family is much more than that. It’s a place where relationships are born. For me it’s not about any structure It’s about love, affection, warmth and care. In a family people are nurtured everyday unconditionally.

Family never says – We will love only if…

What I cherish the most about the family is the presence of the elders. Yes, they are annoying, irritating, repetitive,…. But THEY CARE FOR US. Accept it! They are repetitive because their life has come to a halt. A few years back they were making memories by being a provider. Now their new role doesn’t have those perks. So they need to find a way to live. They want to share how they grew up, lived, made friends, got married, their struggle, etc… They annoy/irritate because they repeat these stories. but isn’t that the case with everyone ? Let’s introspect, Didn’t we tell our kids our childhood stories…? Haven’t we shared our childhood stories or showed our childhood photos ? Haven’t we ? So let them do it. It makes them feels alive. They are not interested in earthly possession now. They just want their next generations to do well in their life.

My real-life experience :

Couple of years ago I went to railway station for picking up some of my elderly relatives. On my way I saw an elderly couple looking curiously at me. I looked at the elderly aunty, smiled and walked away. But I overheard them talking about me. Now, I became curious so I started asking questions to her. She told me that I look alike one of their cousins whom she hasn’t met in years. She felt little embarrassed but I kept asking more and more. She shared some more details about her cousin, Guess what ? She is my father’s second generation cousins. My grandfather and aunt’s father were cousins. The elderly and I have never met each other. But still she was able to recognize her cousin’s (second generation cousin’s) son. Phew… That’s a goosebumps giving event…

This lead me to express ‘Parivaar‘…..
